HELLO!
My name is Nicole Sennett and I am the creator of Daytripper app. I believe everyday is a journey and we should make the most of every moment. I love adventures and new places. Each night I research new locations and create day trips for the upcoming weekends. A perfect daytrip should have many stops along the way that center around your tastes and interests. A plan should be efficient and not veer too far off the path. A daytrip should be organized and predictable enough to invite friends and family to join you along the way. It should also allow for flexibility in case you want to make a last-minute update. A perfect daytrip should be unforgettable and make memories to last a lifetime.
I have been doing daytrips nearly every weekend for the past decade. I know the apps and websites to toggle between to find events and attractions. I know how to create the route and readjust it for efficiency. It takes time and effort. Because of this, I have created Daytripper App. My hope is to ease the process of creating plans, lessen the time it takes to organize, and give users more time to get out and explore, making the most of each day!
The first step in creating a perfect daytrip is to choose a destination. The app is designed to choose a general area, address or point of interest. After you know your destination, you can choose categories you are interested in. Among the categories on the app are restaurants, shopping, nightlife, nature and parks, arts and entertainment, breweries, good for kids and more. Don’t worry if you choose too many, the app allows the user to remove a category or even shuffle categories around for further efficiency.
I will go through a typical daytrip for our family. We are in rural Pennsylvania, so I typically enter a neighboring town as a destination. Our first category is ‘coffee and tea’. I am a busy mom and often need that kick start in the morning. I also love finding small eclectic coffee shops (and what child doesn’t love sweets that are often sold in those coffee shops?). Our family’s passion is being outside, so the next category we choose is ‘nature and parks.’ We are often in search of a quality hiking or biking trail to incorporate into our daytrip. For us, the entire point is to get out into nature and put the devices down for the day. The next category we choose is ‘good for kids.” I typically try to find something educational for the family and this category will populate museums, historical sites and other points of interest that are age appropriate for children. Now that we have a few points of interest and stops under our belt, everyone is hungry so the next category I choose is ‘restaurants.’ The app is designed to make choosing a restaurant easy by swiping away options that are not of interest and clicking the one that is. For us, four to five categories usually makes for a great adventure. We typically invite friends and family to join us on these adventures and always share our itineraries with them. This way, if they are interested in meeting us halfway through the trip, they know where we are and can join along.
In creating this app, I have included all the essential features to make a perfect daytrip. You choose your own destination, your own stops along the way and your friends and family to join in. I hope you enjoy the app and spend less time planning and more time making each moment of your life journey an experience that screams YOU!!!!!!!!
